Boss Fights

Just One Boss is a single-arena bullet-hell fight: dodge one boss's growing attack patterns on a grid of tiles and land hits when the openings come.

About Just One Boss

Just One Boss is exactly what it says: one arena, one boss, one fight that gets faster and denser with every phase. The floor is a grid of tiles, the boss fires patterns across it, and your job is to be on the tile the pattern is not, then punish the gap. There is no level select and no story, only a fight that is short enough to retry instantly and long enough that a clear feels like something.

If you came from the Sans fight, this is the closest game on the site: fixed patterns, a small space, and a difficulty that lives in your memory rather than your reflexes.

How to Play Just One Boss

  1. Press Play and the fight starts immediately.
  2. Move with the arrow keys or WASD to stay out of the marked tiles and the projectiles.
  3. When the boss is open, get close and hit it; each phase needs several hits.
  4. Survive each new pattern as the phases stack up until the boss goes down.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD: move.
  • Space or Z: attack when in range.
  • R: restart after a death.

Tips and Tricks

  • Watch the tiles, not the boss. Attacks are telegraphed on the floor a beat before they land.
  • Stay near the middle early on; every corner is a dead end in the later phases.
  • Do not chase hits during a pattern. The window after a pattern is where the damage is.
  • Each phase adds one idea. Learn the idea in isolation and the stack becomes manageable.

Just One Boss FAQ

How long is the fight?

A clean run is a few minutes. Learning it takes longer.

Is there more than one boss?

No. The title is honest. The variety is in the phases.

Does it save?

There is nothing to save. Every run is the whole fight.
